Recognized for re-editing the good names of design from 1930 to the present day, the Danish house of Gubi is providing the very first creation of the very promising talent Mathias Steen Rasmussen. Initially designed for his own home, the preliminary MR01 chair combines conventional craftsmanship with unique concepts in a simple type that is each familiar and trendy.
After completing his apprenticeship, Rasmussen had beforehand targeted on handcrafted one-offs and limited editions.
The preliminary MR01 chair is the first of his designs to be developed for production. Mathias Steen Rasmussen explains, “The chair emanates from a easy development, optimized for production and made with the intention of lasting as long as the materials themselves permit.”
