Nigerian architect-designer Tosin Oshinowo, founder of cmDesign Atelier (cmD+A), continues her exploration into modernist, minimalist, and accountable structure with this coral pavilion, situated in the Lagos lagoons. The particularity of this design is that it's situated on a peninsula accessible solely by boat from the Nigerian metropolis. It thus gives the look of being misplaced on a abandoned island, however remains inside the metropolitan limits, serving as a rest area for day journeys. The interior-exterior building takes under consideration the equatorial local weather: it performs on the shadow strains created by the solar, protects from the rain with its cantilevered roof and lets a refreshing breeze filter by means of with its north-south wind. The colors are equally necessary, between the white structure, the coral-pink flooring, the turquoise pool and the olive-green furniture parts that recall the luxurious nature. An idyllic area, lined with palm timber, removed from the urban frenzy.
