Final January, the irreverent Estonian rapper Tommy Money sent the online into a frenzy with an image of himself sitting on a baked couch. The connoisseurs’ eyes simply acknowledged the legendary sofa designed by B&B Italia in 1970 by Mario Bellini. However who was behind this sudden (and comfortable) crossover between this design icon and this symbol of carbohydrate-rich comfort meals? Gab Bois, a 24-year-old multidisciplinary artist from Montreal with a specific present for images. Her credo? Ingenious photomontages, enjoying with our perception of the actual and the unreal, and with the visual discomfort of her viewer. Her raw materials? On a regular basis objects, from food to clothes, from cell telephones to these good previous headphones. A singular and subversive universe that she has compiled in a e-book “New Album” revealed by Anteism Books.
