Vibratile spaces

Born in 1967 in Copenhagen, affiliated with the Mild and Area movement, Olafur Eliasson has made mild and chromatic phenomena the idea for an exploration of notion and especially of its subjectivity. Contemplating the perception of the external surroundings (mild and darkness, colours, depth of area and time…) as intrinsically linked to the notion of oneself, one’s physique and one’s interiority, the artist, who places the spectator/viewer at the middle of his units, seeks to stimulate this consciousness by intensifying actuality: games of shimmers and lightweight diffractions, artificial waterfalls and fogs, truncated or demultiplied perspectives, artificial coloring of mists or rivers…, his palette, always renewed and enriched by the various collaborators in his studio, is infinite. The artist who, in the course of the Local weather Convention in November 2015, exhibited twelve blocks of ice introduced from the Greenland Sea in entrance of the Nationwide Assembly, has not finished shocking us…
