Is gastronomy the brand new horizon of Italian trend? The question is value asking in mild of the various ristorante and pasticceria opened by transalpine luxurious houses. After Prada in London and Milan, and Armani in Paris, Gucci is now getting right down to business.

In March, the Florentine brand opened its fourth Osteria (Italian for tavern) in Seoul, following these in Florence (close to its headquarters), Beverly Hills, and Tokyo. All are overseen by three-starred chef Massimo Bottura, recognized for his Osteria Francescana in Modena, twice voted greatest restaurant on the planet by The World’s 50 Greatest restaurants in 2016 and 2018. Every Osteria Gucci is rigorously entrusted to an area maestro. On the menu: one of the best of the boot’s delicacies combined with the flavors of the host country. In Japan, the famous parmigiana (eggplant gratin) is reworked into ramen. The same is true in South Korea, where cooks Hyungkyu Jun and Davide Cardellini are also reappropriating the conventions of Mediterranean cuisine and mixing them with that of Korea. “Include me to Italy,” says chef Mattia Agazzi, head of Osteria in Los Angeles. Or “Venni con me in Italia,” he interprets, providing the perfect of American and Italian merchandise. No element is ignored. The intimate area includes cherry-red, velvet banquettes and herringbone flooring. The absolutely coated outside terrace boasts a mosaic flooring of Italian marble. The architecture of every restaurant communicates with the others. In Tokyo, for instance, the inside design is a nod to Florence’s Osteria, with its Italian Renaissance references and hand-painted picket flooring inspired by historic motifs. Mexican chef Karime Lopez is deeply inspired by “the light and colors; the ochre tones and brown shades of the walls; the Florentine palaces which might be emblematic of this unique city of artwork and tradition. Gucci restaurants know no boundaries and take Italian flavors all over the world, for a valuable, unique, multicultural, and warm outcome. Buon appetito!
