After six years of labor, the venerable museum in Boulogne-Billancourt is lastly reopening. This system for this challenge, designed by Kengo Kuma, consists of the rehabilitation of eight buildings, as well as the development of a new one. As a standard thread, the Japanese architect selected a standard factor of Japanese architecture: the “engawa”, a space bordering the exterior and the interior. The reinterpretation of this precept is developed all through the location, and permits for a dialogue between the constructed heritage and the gardens utilizing mild wooden, bamboo and metallic. Materials that permit the engawa to mix into nature, to filter the views, while giving rise to areas of shade, with a purpose to participate within the thermal consolation of the buildings.
