Purity, minimalism, and nature are the three words that outline the architectural work of Valeriane Lazard.
Answerable for the interior design of their boutique within the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, it is fairly pure that the brand Polène needed to proceed their collaboration with the design of their first New York boutique. A nugget in the coronary heart of the hustle and bustle of Broadway.
After graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven underneath the path of designer Ilse Crawford and Studio Formafantasma, Valeriane Lazard educated with great names in architecture, corresponding to Studio KO – answerable for the creation of the Yves-Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech – and Vincent Van Duysen. The inside designer’s work is an ode to natural materials and details that make her tasks unique.
Upon getting into the store, the white stone sculpting of the New York storefront and the picket particulars seen from the home windows reveal a most intriguing interior. In the middle, a glass set up catches the eye. The centerpiece of the store, it allows the carving of customized leather underneath the astonished gaze of the purchasers. A white powder product of marble makes up the partitions of this primary area composed of masterful arches.
It's a place imagined in length that we discover by a high ceiling with a spherical appearance. Each bit of furnishings, together with the imposing travertine within the middle of the primary room and the walnut wooden furniture, units the tone and guides the customer by means of the totally different spaces of the boutique. The inside design is disconcertingly simple and invites meditation.
Each bit of furniture has been custom designed with this specific consideration to detail. Valeriane Lazard was eager to spotlight modern artists, notably via the imposing table created from compressed leather-based scraps by Spanish artist Jorge Penadès. Displayed on the walnut wooden cabinets like collector’s gadgets, Polène’s handbags consciously gown each area of this distinctive interior. All the flooring was product of a light-weight travertine that matches the dark shade of the rounded chairs, made not far from the boutique, within the workshops of the Château Brooklyn brand.
Sooner or later, within its most intimate area, the brand will launch a jewellery and shoe assortment, which explains the presence of numerous glass arches and a sculptural five-seat chair designed in walnut wooden and woven leather.
